Position Summary:
Sovah Danville is seeking a PRN-Registered Neurodiagnostic Tech to be responsible for performing all routine Neurodiagnostic procedures as ordered by a physician.
- Prepare for the arrival of the patient by setting up and preparing the equipment for the ordered test.
- Coordinates and participates in the performance and processing of EKGs.
- Performs technically appropriate EEGs (i.e. Evoked Potentials, Intra-operative monitoring, BAEP, and VEP SSEP, or nerve conditions).
- Responsible for calibrating, setting up, and monitoring continuous EEG/EMG procedures.
- Participates in the routine maintenance of equipment; makes periodic rounds to ensure proper functioning of bio-medical equipment.
- Determines and reports needed repairs and replacements.
- Transports patients to and from the lab when necessary within the hospital.
- Assures preliminary reports are faxed to appropriate referring physicians or placed on the patient's chart promptly.
- Enters charges and results into the hospital information system and any departmental database (i.e.- CardioServer, etc).
- Provides clinical instruction on the proper use of equipment to hospital staff and patients.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of a Program in Electro-Neurodiagnostics Education (EEG) preferred.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays to ensure continuity of care and appropriateness of coverage to the patients of Sovah Health Danville on all units.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- ABRET Registered Electro-Neurodiagnostic Technologist required
- Must have at least two (2) years of experience performing all modalities of EEG required.
