Mathnasium of Yorktown is seeking a dynamic and welcoming Receptionist / Student Engagement Facilitator to serve as the front-line representative of our learning center. As the first person families see when they walk through our doors or call our center, this role is critical in creating an exceptional and friendly experience for all who visit. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys building relationships with children and families, brings a high level of positive energy to each day, and thrives on delivering excellent customer service.

This is more than a front desk roleour Receptionist / Student Engagement Facilitator helps create a supportive, engaging atmosphere where students feel excited to learn and parents feel confident in our program. You will play a key part in fostering a sense of belonging in the center, helping students celebrate their progress, and ensuring that daily operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Front Desk & Parent Communication

• Welcome all students, families, and guests warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression of the center.
• Answer phones and emails in a friendly and responsive manner; assist with questions, scheduling, and parent inquiries.
• Proactively communicate with families about scheduling needs, student milestones, upcoming events, and other important information.
• Assist with welcoming and onboarding new families and students to ensure a smooth transition into the Mathnasium experience.
• Center Operations & Organization
• Manage daily check-in and check-out processes to ensure accurate attendance and smooth student flow.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and cheerful environment that reflects pride in our center.
• Help keep supplies stocked and workspaces tidy so students and instructors can focus on learning.
• Ensure all activities align with Mathnasium's brand standards and commitment to excellent service.
• Student Engagement & Experience
• Foster a supportive and motivating atmosphere for students during their learning sessions.
• Engage with students to celebrate their progress and help them stay focused and confident in their work.
• Support center activities such as games, incentives, recognition programs, and special events that keep students excited about math.
• Help organize student celebrations and create fun moments that build a sense of belonging and enthusiasm.
• Build relationships with students and families to encourage long-term engagement and loyalty to the program.
• Team Support & Community Engagement
• Assist with center events, family nights, and community outreach activities as needed.
• Contribute ideas for enhancing student experiences and parent satisfaction.
• Attend team meetings, share feedback, and collaborate with fellow staff to continually improve the center environment.
• Occasionally assist with social media content by capturing highlights and moments that reflect the joyful, engaging nature of Mathnasium.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Center Director to support overall success of the center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• Friendly, professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comfortable engaging with children in grades K12.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a busy, fast-paced learning center environment.
• Previous experience in customer service, education, or childcare is a plus.
• Proficient in basic computer applications (Google Workspace, CRM systems, etc.).

Compensation: $12.41 - $17.00 per hour
