Join our dedicated team as a Radiology Technologist and Dosimetrist to make a significant impact on the lives of patients battling cancer and serious illnesses. In this role, you will play a vital part in calculating and designing radiation treatment plans, working closely with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to ensure effective and safe treatment delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calculate precise doses of radiation and develop tailored treatment plans that effectively target tumors while safeguarding healthy tissue.
- Utilize advanced treatment planning software to contour tumors and surrounding organs using CT and other diagnostic scans.
- Collaborate effectively with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and therapists to facilitate safe and accurate treatment administration.
- Participate in quality assurance testing of treatment plans and equipment to ensure readiness before patient treatments.
- Maintain detailed documentation and archival of patient files and treatment plans, assisting with chart checks throughout the treatment journey.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, guiding them through the treatment process.
Work Environment:
- Work is carried out in hospitals, cancer centers, or physicians' offices, frequently involving computer work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- This position demands strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, along with a solid understanding of anatomy, physics, and mathematics.
