Purchasing Specialist III

The Purchasing Specialist III plays a crucial role in assessing supplier quotes, reviewing schedules, and understanding the processes and costs associated with creating parts. The position involves supplier and delivery management to ensure efficient and timely production.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier quotations to ensure compliance with drawing specifications and styling intent. Analyze gaps and negotiate directly with suppliers.
• Lead cost analysis activities for a complete vehicle to achieve cost targets, establish cost tables, and propose maker layouts.
• Coordinate supplier activities related to maintaining development schedules, tooling, and production to ensure on-time fulfillment and meet production needs.
• Create documents to justify proposals for cost evaluation using cost tables, supplier data, and other resources.
• Lead activities to fulfill production needs at the manufacturing facility.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in project management, cost analysis, product development, or manufacturing.
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and internet search tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with purchasing, procurement, supply chain, purchase orders, and ERP systems.
• Familiarity with SAP, inventory management, MRP, and vendor management.
• Experience in aerospace, logistics, and contract negotiation.
• Ability to work in a startup or startup-like environment, adjust to change, handle ambiguity, multitask, and prioritize tasks.
• Willingness to travel.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role requiring four days onsite and one day working remotely. The work environment supports a team-oriented atmosphere, encouraging collaboration and adaptability. Employees are expected to dress in business casual attire and embrace a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrance, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $53.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
