As part of our team, you will be integral in assisting surgeons and other medical professionals through the meticulous preparation and execution of surgical procedures. You will harness your expertise in sterile techniques and human anatomy to support complex surgical interventions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Circulating Nurse in preparing all necessary surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment tailored to patient and surgical team requirements.
• Maintain a constant awareness of safety protocols for both patients and equipment, ensuring proper handling and identification of specimens.
• Collaborate with team members to effectively restock surgical supplies in an efficient and cost-conscious manner.
• Prepare the surgical site under registered nurse supervision and provide ongoing status reports during procedures.
• Commit to personal growth by attending in-services, maintaining certifications, and staying updated on relevant policies and procedures.
• Embrace the importance of teamwork, cooperation, and support within the operating room environment.
• Manage and maintain sterile fields with unwavering attention to aseptic techniques, assisting the surgeon and verifying instrument counts with the Circulating Nurse.
• Apply your knowledge of sterile techniques in every surgical procedure you assist.

Qualifications

Education:
A graduate of a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program or similar formal training.

Experience:
1-2 years of experience in surgical technology and certification preferred.

Licensure:
Certification as a surgical technologist (LCC-ST) must be obtained within 1 year of employment if not already certified.

Special Skills:
Knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques, human anatomy, and surgical instrumentation across various procedures in all surgical areas. Ability to work autonomously while adhering to the highest industry standards.

Physical Demand:
This position requires standing for 90% of the workday, lifting up to 36 pounds, and managing high-pressure situations. Must be capable of performing fine motor tasks and enduring temperature variations in the operating room.
