Job Summary
As a Part Time Retail Sales Team Member at PetSmart, you will engage with pet parents and their beloved pets, providing positive experiences that align with our vision, mission, and values. You will also contribute to maintaining store cleanliness, pet safety standards, and the care of our in-store pets.
Job Responsibilities
- Create wonderful experiences for pet parents and their pets both in-store and online.
- Welcome pet parents, guiding them to answers and assistance throughout the store.
- Manage online orders for in-store pick-up and ensure a seamless process.
- Take care of the health and well-being of store-owned pets, including feeding and cleaning their habitats.
- Uphold cleanliness standards throughout the store.
- Assist with pricing changes and promotions.
- Organize and prepare new products for display.
- Ensure sales floor standards are met by organizing and replenishing merchandise.
- Offer recommendations and information on products, services, and live pets.
- Administer medications to store pets as directed by our veterinarian.
- Promote exciting store events such as adoption weekends and charity events.
- Maintain a safe environment for associates, pets, and customers.
- Respond promptly if any sick or injured pets are identified in-store, including potential transportation to veterinary care.
- Assist in various areas of the store as needed.
- Embrace our culture of belonging and recognition.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible schedule, available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to remain composed and react effectively under pressure.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, and use hands for various tasks. Frequently required to reach, stoop, kneel, and talk.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally more than 100 pounds with assistance.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet conditions, noise, and live animals is common in this role.
