CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Overhead Transmission Engineer to join our Power & Manufacturing Electric Transmission Team at our office in Syracuse, NY.

CHA's dedicated team of electric transmission and substation professionals prioritizes safety and technical excellence - from initial surveying and assessment to planning, permitting, research, and comprehensive design and engineering. We specialize in all types and the full spectrum of power delivery systems. Whether it's AC or DC, overhead or underground, submarine, or indoor/outdoor installations, we cover it all.

The Overhead Transmission Engineer conducts the design development, implementation, and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. At CHA, our Overhead Transmission Engineer works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

The Overhead Transmission Engineer monitors progress and performance against the project plan and acts immediately to resolve operational problems and minimize delays, as well as recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results, and makes appropriate corrections. The professional in this role identifies, develops, and gathers technical resources necessary to complete assignments. The Overhead Transmission Engineer completes field assignments when appropriate.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required

Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred

Minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience is required

Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of the respective engineering field as well as proven ability to practically apply it in a professional environment

Proficiency with PLS-Suite and Microsoft Office software required

Proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software preferred (AutoCAD, MicroStation, BlueBeam, FAD, LPile, etc.)

Understands QA/QC procedures

Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences

Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist more senior staff

Participation in a professional engineering society/organization is preferred

Salary Range:

$82,000 - $92,500

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
