Senior Transmission Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transmission Engineer to lead and execute projects focused on overhead design. This role involves providing expert consultation, planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating detailed project phases independently. The position requires guiding and mentoring junior staff, reviewing their work, and contributing to technical proposals and external presentations.

Responsibilities:

• Execute projects within the discipline and provide expert consultation.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of projects independently.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior level staff.
• Resolve complex technical issues and monitor project progress and performance.
• Identify technical discrepancies and recommend improvements to design quality.
• Develop technical proposals and deliver external presentations.

Essential Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Structural/Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer License (PE) preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience required.
• Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline(s) and best practices.
• Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software, including Revit, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures and business practices related to engineering.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills adaptable to various audiences.
• Proficiency with MS Office software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of related engineering experience required.
• Strong working knowledge of the engineering field and practical application skills.
• Proficiency with PLS-Suite and Microsoft Office software.
• Experience with engineering, computational, and modeling software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, BlueBeam, FAD, and LPile preferred.
• Participation in a professional engineering society/organization preferred.

Work Environment:

This position offers a flexible hybrid work environment, with the option for fully remote work for candidates with strong transmission line design experience. Proximity to one of the company's offices is preferred but not required. The role involves working with a backlog of projects across multiple utilities, offering growth opportunities within the organization.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albany, New York. Other offices along the East Coast.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
