Summary
The Operations Industrial Engineer will be responsible for working with Operations and Automation teams for the planning, implementation management, and measurements of DHL processes in existing and new distribution centers. Collaborate with the team to identify inefficiencies and achieve continuous improvement.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Operations Industrial Engineers focus is on the assigned distribution centers but can be extended as needed. Primary responsibilities:
- Provides engineering support for 1-3 distribution centers and operations management
- Responsible for traditional Industrial Engineering tasks including staff planning models, productivity improvement, work methods and measurement standards, best practice identification, standardized process maintenance and procedure documentation.
- Performs advanced root cause analysis on field metrics to enhance cost effectiveness in the field.
- Analyzes reports and data pertaining to operations engineering performance (e.g., service performance, quality, cost per unit, pieces per hour).
- Identifies and describes process/product/profile deviations per customer/process/distribution centers on a regular basis.
- Identifies opportunities for Layout-optimization of existing distribution centers.
- Conducts time-studies, identification and description of process deviations, identification and implementation of best practices.
Education And/Or Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in industrial engineering and 0-2 years applicable experience required. Experience in automation design and implementation preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, comfort in Visio and/or AutoCAD, comfort in MS Project.

Physical Demands
- Physical demands are consistent with a warehouse environment where frequently this position will be exposed to cold, hot and changing temperatures; will constantly experience noise at medium level not damaging or loud enough to require protective equipment; will frequently be exposed to dust, dirt and changes in lighting.
- May be required to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs. (additional weight may be required with assistance).
- Frequently walk throughout the warehouse to supervise employees.
- Flexible to work any shift.

Annual Salary of $62,475-$104,125. This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the starting salary range for this role. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include but are not limited to your specific skills, your work location, how many years of experience you have, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
