SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist for a PRN position. This role is an incredible opportunity to impact the lives of patients in meaningful ways.
Position Highlights:
- Work on a PRN basis, allowing you to manage your schedule.
- Commit to two weekends of coverage each month.
- Participate in Monday's orientation for a smooth onboarding experience.
- Enjoy flexibility for training sessions during weekday mornings and afternoons.
About the Role:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will assess and treat patients facing physical, emotional, cognitive, and psychosocial challenges. Your expertise will guide them toward greater independence and improved quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients' abilities to perform daily living skills and design individualized treatment plans.
- Implement treatment plans using evidence-based modalities, documenting progress and adapting as needed.
- Educate patients and their families on care strategies and the appropriate use of adaptive equipment.
- Supervise care provided by assistants and other designated staff in line with regulatory standards.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness while performing duties to ensure patient safety.
- Undertake additional tasks as necessary to enhance patient care.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate) from an accredited program.
- No prior experience required—new graduates are welcome!
Physical Demands:
- Continuous standing and frequent movement required.
- Ability to lift/carry weights of 0-50 lbs occasionally.
- Strong communication and vision skills necessary for patient care.
- Compliance with safety requirements and practices.
Licensure:
Must obtain the appropriate state Occupational Therapist license and complete Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of employment.
Work Shift:
Day shifts are available. This role involves working in a dynamic hospital environment where teamwork is essential.
