nWe are searching for the best talent for a Product Development Engineer II. This position is an onsite role based in Danvers, MA.
nPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:
n- n
- Apply biomedical, mechanical, and electrical engineering principles to develop medical devices (Impella pump and system). n
- Lead and contribute to brainstorms to identify solutions, considering design trade-offs. n
- Construct solid models and drawings using GD&T and stack-up analyses n
- Fabricate prototypes with support from internal team (machine shop, technicians and designers) and external suppliers. n
- Develop, validate, and execute test methods for design characterization and verification. n
- Work with internal and external manufacturing partners to ensure producible designs (DFM). n
- Prepare and present design reviews, ensuring the technical integrity of the product design. n
- Address technical and programmatic risks, ensuring effective risk identification, assessment, and mitigation. n
- Effectively communicate activity status, issues, and mitigation plans with collaborators. n
- Collaborate to ensure compliance with design controls, company quality policy, and applicable regulatory requirements. n
Job Qualifications:
n- n
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or directly related scientific field n
- 2+ years product development experience n
- Demonstrated history of performing to meet goals and achieve results n
- 3D modeling experience n
- Experience applying statistical analysis (Six Sigma and/or Design for Six Sigma, tolerance analysis) n
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with root cause investigations n
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results n
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and to the EU, up to 10% of the time, in support of role responsibilities n
Preferred Qualifications:

- Master of Science degree n
- Medical Device product development experience n
- Knowledge in medical device clinical use, design controls and regulating standards n
- Knowledge of cath lab and/or cardiothoracic/vascular surgical environments n
- Experience with preclinical evaluation of medical devices n
- Solidworks experience n

nThe anticipated base pay range for this position is $89,000 to $137,000.
nThe Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401k).This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program. Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits: Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year. Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year. Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year. Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year.
