Overview

OBGYN Sonographer role at Rutgers University . Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Ultrasound Sonographer for the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Health within the New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division Director, the Ultrasound Sonographer is responsible for performing ultrasounds on patients referred to the Maternal-Fetal Medicine provider, including basic OB sonograms, limited, specialized, and umbilical cord Doppler studies. There are opportunities to participate in research and clinical teaching to support professional development and career growth.

Responsibilities

• Identifies self to patient and explains procedures.
• Prepares patients for procedures and records medical histories relevant to conditions being evaluated.
• Adequately completes all information in Viewpoint and files all information according to procedures.
• Ensures patient safety and comfort.
• Communicates and discusses ultrasound results with patients and care team members.
• Uses 2D and occasionally 3D ultrasounds to diagnose and evaluate patients.
• Performs basic OB sonograms, limited, specialized, and umbilical cord Doppler studies as applicable.

Qualifications

• Preferred Qualifications: Maternal-Fetal Medicine experience with no less than 2 years in OB/GYN sonography.
• RDMS certification in Fetal Echocardiography.
• Current BLS or CPR certification.
