Medical Field Service Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team and service medical laboratory equipment such as hematology, chemistry, and coagulation analyzers. This full-time position focuses on installation, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of our cutting-edge automated robotic lab instrumentation in and around Birmingham, AL. Ideal candidates will have strong technical skills in electronics and electromechanical systems and thrive in a customer-facing role that requires critical thinking and problem-solving under varying circumstances.
Salary: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform installation, servicing, and preventive maintenance of medical laboratory instrumentation.
Engage with customers to establish and maintain excellent professional relationships, ensuring high client satisfaction.
Coordinate problem resolution within the Field Support Group to effectively address hardware or software issues.
Maintain an organized inventory of tools and parts in a company vehicle.
Provide on-site basic training to customers on the operation and maintenance of the instrumentation.
Collaborate with team members to share best practices and improvements for field service activities.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years experience as a field service engineer in a related field.
A Certificate or AAS Degree in electronics or a related discipline is highly preferred.
Proven ability in electronics & electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
Ability to travel overnight as required for job completion and client needs.
Candidate must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or obtain a legally required accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in servicing medical lab analyzers or similar medical instrumentation.
Strong diagnostic skills with attention to detail for accurate problem identification and resolution.
Excellent interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong customer relationships.

Skills:

Expertise in electronic and electro-mechanical systems troubleshooting and repair.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with clients and team members.
Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently to meet service deadlines.
Strong organizational skills for managing tools and parts inventory.
