Medical Assistant and Radiology Technician

Baptist Urgent Care is seeking dedicated, compassionate, and skilled Medical Assistant/X-Ray Tech or Radiology Tech to join our vibrant healthcare team. We have full-time and PRN opportunities available!

Baptist Urgent Care operates 10 locations in Tennessee and Mississippi, and is affiliated with Urgent Team, a leading operator of urgent and family care centers in the Southeast. We provide high-quality and affordable family healthcare at over 80 locations under several trusted brands.

Our walk-in centers offer a variety of healthcare services, including treatment for injuries and illnesses as well as occupational health and wellness care. We are open seven days a week: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. All Baptist Urgent Care centers are Accredited Care Centers, recognizing our commitment to safety, quality, and a broad range of services.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant/X-Ray Tech or Radiology Tech is responsible for welcoming patients, activating patient files, and providing essential support to both patients and medical staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties outline the core expectations of this position. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary:

• Warmly greet patients upon arrival in waiting areas, exam rooms, and radiology rooms.
• Maintain open communication with patients about wait times and guide them through the treatment process.
• Address patient issues promptly and seek help in emergency situations.
• Provide timely follow-ups regarding lab and x-ray results.
• Make follow-up calls with a sense of urgency.
• Assist front desk personnel with patient check-in and check-out as needed.
• Accurately document patient vital signs, brief histories, current medications, and allergies.
• Support patient transfers and assist with procedures under provider supervision.
• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, ensuring adherence to safety and care standards.
• Ensure equipment is functional and report any malfunctions immediately.
• Maintain necessary documentation related to each patient visit.
• Keep examination rooms clean and well-stocked.
• Follow infection control/safety protocols and uphold patient confidentiality.
• Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other medical procedures appropriate for your training under the provider’s direction.

WHAT'S REQUIRED?
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Medical Assistant Certificate or relevant experience.
• Valid State License to perform X-Rays.
• BLS Certification required.
