Job Summary

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, testing, and developing cutting-edge products while adhering to industry standards. Your expertise will directly contribute to the success of our engineering team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and specify components, subassemblies, and complete assemblies for New Product Development.
• Collaborate with R&D to set-up and conduct laboratory tests to validate product performance.
• Analyze test data and implement necessary product revisions to meet performance and safety standards.
• Create and maintain engineering documents, including part assemblies and detail drawings.
• Utilize the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process to efficiently manage product improvements.
• Formulate and update product design specifications as needed.
• Support assembly line operations by troubleshooting and resolving production challenges.
• Train production and service teams on new builds and product enhancements.
• Collaborate closely within a fast-paced Engineering department alongside manufacturing, sales, and service teams.
• Occasionally travel to assist with applications, diagnostics, or participate in trade shows.
• Help maintain applications and equipment in alignment with evolving truck manufacturer model changes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field preferred, or 20+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proven background in designing and troubleshooting pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with rotary screw compressors is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems and equipment.
• Experience with automotive powertrain, work trucks, or large equipment is a plus.
• Proficient in 2D/3D CAD environments, preferably AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Possess a positive attitude and excel in team-oriented tasks.
• Familiarity with document control systems, like Vault, is advantageous.
