Materials Science Engineer II

Join our innovative team as a Materials Science Engineer II! In this exciting role, you'll be responsible for researching, planning, and testing materials for our exciting R&D initiatives as well as materials supply and operations improvement at Marvin manufacturing locations. You will actively seek out new innovative materials and methods, while also enhancing our current material validation and incoming inspection processes in a cost-effective manner. Your contribution will be vital in developing and improving our products to help us exceed Marvin's goals.

This position is based in Warroad, MN, and if you're considering relocating, you may be eligible for a generous relocation benefit package. This includes assistance with moving household goods, temporary housing, and access to a relocation counselor to guide you through the transition.

Highlights of your role include:

• Materials Qualification: Research, test, and assist in selecting materials for window and door manufacturing. You'll create comprehensive test plans to validate designs and act as a technical liaison among materials acquisition teams, suppliers, and design teams.
• Materials Testing: Plan and conduct testing of materials to support qualification and continuous improvement efforts in collaboration with operations teams and suppliers.
• Technical Support: Provide expert technical support related to materials across various departments within the company.

You're a great fit if you have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgy, Bioproducts Engineering, or any other related engineering or science field focusing on materials.
• A solid technical understanding of materials composition, behavior, manufacturing processes, and application assessment.
• Knowledge of statistical test planning, Design of Experiments (DOE), and data analysis.
• A working knowledge of materials analysis techniques and testing methods related to polymers, wood, coatings, metallurgy, and/or glass.

Compensation for this position ranges from $81,000 to $108,000 annually.
