Manufacturing Engineer - Precision CNC
Summary: This role is responsible for developing manufacturing processes that meet customer requirements in a high-precision contract machining environment. The position requires strong CNC process engineering expertise to ensure cost-effective, compliant, and efficient production of tight-tolerance components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop manufacturing methods, tooling strategies, and documented processes for CNC machining.
- Provide CAD support for CAM programming activities.
- Optimize set-up processes to reduce cycle times and improve efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues while driving continuous improvement.
- Generate process documentation including drawings, process sheets, and travelers.
- Evaluate existing processes to eliminate inefficiencies and non-conformances.
- Collaborate with supervisors and production staff to support smooth operations.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
- Strong background in CNC machining and metalworking processes.
- Proficient in GD&T and interpreting mechanical drawings/specifications.
- Skilled in fixturing concepts, tolerance stack-ups, and process control.
- Familiar with in-process inspection and precision measuring devices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
