Assistant Machine Operator

Join our team to assist with the setup and operation of tandem rolling mill machinery. Your role will involve installation and adjustment of rolls, threading up, conducting first piece inspections, welding, and performing general clean-up tasks. Utilize precision measurement instruments and perform basic shop math calculations to ensure high-quality production.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate wire machines with minimal supervision.
• Change over equipment and ensure the quality of the product.
• Make adjustments in operating conditions to produce quality products.
• Perform necessary tests and measurements to ensure products meet specifications.
• Keep accurate product data and records.
• Address any machine malfunctions immediately to ensure production continuity.
• Report major machine malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Continually inspect products while performing duties.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Assist in other duties as directed.

Essential Skills

• 6+ months of heavy manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read measurements using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
• Mechanically inclined with experience in machine operation.
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs throughout the shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prefer at least 6 months of machine operation experience.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to perform tasks safely

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.70/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
