Job Duties: As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be essential in managing and maintaining our transfer station by efficiently operating heavy machinery. Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating heavy equipment such as compactors, excavators, and bucket loaders.
• Setting up and inspecting equipment before use.
• Understanding machine capabilities and limitations.
• Safely following hand signals, grade stakes, or other guidelines during operations.
• Receiving and acting on written and verbal instructions concerning material movement.
• Efficiently moving materials within the facility to maintain a productive workflow.
• Managing the loading of transfer trailers to targeted weight to optimize operations.
• Creating and maintaining inclines or ramps as required.
• Performing repairs and replacing parts on machinery when necessary.

Work Environment: This role involves exposure to various physical conditions including odors, loud noises, and different weather elements.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma or GED required; additional education is a plus.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Equipment Operator is required.
• Experience in the sanitation industry is highly preferred.
• Fluent in English; Spanish bilingual is a plus.
