Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Lab Technician to support our Board Team in managing lab infrastructure, server hardware, and diagnostic tools. The ideal candidate will have experience in data center environments, strong Linux and networking skills, and proficiency with lab equipment and hardware handling.
Key Responsibilities:

Tool Operation: Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools for board-level testing and validation.
Hardware Debugging: Perform soldering and rework on boards; assist in hardware bring-up and validation.
Asset Management: Track and manage lab assets including servers, networking gear, cables, and tools.
Server Handling: Rack/unrack servers safely; perform server setup, configuration, and maintenance.
Power & Network Planning: Assist in planning and implementing power and network redundancy strategies.
Networking: Configure and troubleshoot IPv4 networks, VLANs, DHCP/static IP setups.
Linux Proficiency: Perform system administration tasks and scripting in Linux environments.
IPMI/BClient: Monitor and manage server health using IPMI and BClient interfaces.
Cable Management: Ensure clean and organized cabling for power and data connections.
Data Center Experience: Work in a lab/data center environment with attention to safety and operational protocols.
Python Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts for lab tasks and monitoring.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of experience in a lab technician or data center support role.
Strong understanding of server hardware and infrastructure.
Proficiency in Linux and Python scripting.
Familiarity with networking concepts and configurations.
Experience with IPMI, BClient, and remote server management tools.
Hands-on experience with soldering and board-level hardware debugging.
Skilled in using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMM), and other diagnostic equipment.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with lab management tools and ticketing systems.
Knowledge of environmental monitoring systems.
Familiarity with ESD safety and handling procedures.
Experience supporting hardware bring-up and validation teams.
