Location: Milpitas/San Jose, California. On-site role with strong preference for local candidates.

Overview

Field Service Technician responsible for on-site or in-house calibration and repair of equipment, diagnosing malfunctions, and ensuring high standards of performance. Includes customer interaction, data reporting, and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site or in-house calibration and repair of equipment to ensure it meets Rohde & Schwarz’s high standards of performance
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform repairs
• Evaluate and complete complex data reports
• Represent the company in a customer support role and ensure customer satisfaction with equipment and servicing
• Prepare daily logs and reports of work performed, including hours and inventory used for each assignment
• Handle moderately complex projects with some independent action
• Communicate effectively with customers in a professional business environment

Qualifications

• 3+ years technical experience
• Understanding of RF concepts and devices
• Basic understanding of IP networking and proper network configuration principles
• Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with terminal applications such as Tera Term is helpful
• Ability to use standard professional software such as Microsoft Office products
• Ability to travel a minimum of 50%, primarily domestic travel with occasional international travel
• Available to support an on-call schedule and respond to on-demand travel for service actions
• Strong preference for someone located near Milpitas, CA for in-house support
• Must be capable of lifting up to 75 pounds
• External candidates must be current US residents with valid work authorization
