The Opportunity
Begin Your Journey Here. Our Insurance Customer Support Specialist role may be a new career path for you. There’s much to learn, but with our support, your journey is clear! We offer a comprehensive, fully paid six-month training program that includes training materials, class discussions, hands-on training, and e-learning modules, all guided by experienced instructors. We also cover all licensing costs! We have training sessions starting every month.
Our in-office development program is designed to equip you with the training needed while encouraging a proactive and independent approach to member support. After your initial six months in the office, you'll have the flexibility to work offsite for 2 days each week. Your specific onsite days will be determined with your manager. You can also earn a 15% shift differential for hours worked after 6:00 pm EST, as well as for Saturday and Sunday shifts. We highly encourage military veterans and spouses to apply. Please note that relocation assistance is not available for this position.
As part of our licensing training program, you will need to obtain a property and casualty license for your state of residency by your third week of employment. We provide all study materials and allow you up to 3 attempts to pass the licensing exam. During your first 90 days, we’ll also assist you in obtaining additional state licenses to better serve our members.
Currently, we are seeking dedicated professionals to join our team in Tampa: New Tampa - 17200 Commerce Park Blvd & Brandon - 9527 Delaney Creek Blvd , for future insurance sales and customer service opportunities in 2026. As an Insurance Customer Support Specialist, you will work within defined guidelines to provide exceptional customer service, sales, and retention activities regarding multiple USAA Property & Casualty personal line products. You'll assist members with both new and existing policies, fostering a deeper relationship with our company. Representatives engage with our members across various contact channels to ensure they have adequate coverage and receive sound advice for achieving their financial security.
Your Responsibilities:
Enhance the Property & Casualty member experience by managing inbound and outbound phone calls, emails, and other communication from members.
Utilize your developing knowledge of personal lines insurance to assist members with quotes, binding new business, managing policy changes, billing, payments, underwriting, and general coverage inquiries.
Identify and evaluate member needs to consistently provide accurate advice and solutions for insurance products and services while minimizing transfers and escalations.
Effectively navigate a contact center environment and utilize multiple systems and programs during member interactions.
Maintain your Property & Casualty license and state registrations as required.
Ensure compliance with risk management policies and procedures throughout business activities.
Your Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Able to deliver exceptional customer service by communicating clearly and professionally via phone and email regarding insurance products.
Strong prioritizing and multitasking abilities while navigating multiple business applications.
Understanding of insurance regulatory and compliance requirements.
Ability to acquire Property & Casualty licenses and state registrations within 90 days of hire depending on your location.
What Sets You Apart:
1 year of customer contact experience in a needs-based sales environment.
6 months of experience communicating with customers via phone, email, and/or face-to-face.
US military experience through service or a military spouse/domestic partner.
Salary: The hiring range for this position is: $45,010 - $46,010.
Compensation: USAA uses a thorough process to assess market data and establish competitive pay ranges. Your compensation will be within this range based on your experience and the position's market data. Actual salary may vary based on location.
Employees may be eligible for performance-related pay incentives based on individual and company performance at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
