Industrial Electrician Level 1

Join Our Team as an Industrial Electrician Level 1!

Located at our sawmill operation in McDavid, FL, 32 miles north of Pensacola, this position reports directly to the Electrical Supervisor.

Your Role:

• Conduct tests on electrical systems, ensuring compatibility and safety using devices like ohmmeters and voltmeters.
• Inspect various electrical systems to pinpoint hazards and ensure compliance with electrical codes.
• Troubleshoot, program, and upgrade Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Read and update instrumentation loop diagrams, E & I drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Diagnose and enhance AC variable speed drives and maintain power distribution systems, motor control centers, and switch gear.
• Utilize sketches, manuals, and verbal instructions to design and install electrical equipment within the plant.
• Collaborate with vendors to identify parts and provide recommendations to your supervisor.
• Operate power lift equipment as needed.
• Be ready to work beyond scheduled hours as necessary to support Mill Production.

What You Need to Succeed:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years of verified experience as an Electrician in an Industrial/Manufacturing setting, preferably in Industrial Maintenance.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends.
• Background check, reference check, physical, and drug screen will be performed by the employer.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Allen-Bradley PLC5 and Studio 5000.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley Panelviews and communication protocols (RS232 & Ethernet).
• Knowledge of scanning and optimization systems within the Lumber Manufacturing Business (Porter, USNR, etc.).
• Understanding of Process Network Communication Systems - Ethernet & Fiber Optic.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs independently and up to 75 lbs with assistance.
• Frequent walking, stretching, bending, climbing, and stooping will be required.
• Comfortable working in a non-air-conditioned environment around heated equipment.
• Must be available for overtime and on-call shifts to support 24/7 operations.
