Field Service Mechanic (Up To 30/hr)

Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to perform vibration analysis, laser alignment, and various mechanical services on service calls. The role involves working with large motors, including rigging them in and out of different locations, and performing removal and installation in industrial settings such as wastewater, power plants, and paper mills. You will be responsible for the complete assembly and disassembly of large motors and must be familiar with large turning equipment. The ability to read blueprints and use micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform vibration analysis and laser alignment on service calls.
• Conduct various electrical and mechanical testing.
• Balance in place all sizes of motors.
• Rigging motors in and out of different locations.
• Remove and install large motors in industrial settings.
• Complete assembly and disassembly of large motors.
• Read blueprints accurately.
• Utilize micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools effectively.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial mechanical repair.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• Experience with vibration analysis and laser alignment.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.
• Excellent driving record.
• Willingness to work overtime, including nights and weekends.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Customer service oriented.
• Experience with large turning equipment is a plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $27.00/hr.
