Entry-Level Industrial Electrician

Join our dynamic team at the McDavid, FL, sawmill operation, located 32 miles north of Pensacola. This position reports directly to the Electrical Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test and troubleshoot electrical systems, ensuring compatibility and safety using devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Inspect and evaluate electrical systems and components to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety codes.
• Program, upgrade, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
• Read and interpret instrumentation loop diagrams, E & I drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Troubleshoot and maintain AC variable speed drives, power distribution systems, MCC, and switch gears.
• Design, assemble, and install electrical equipment based on sketches and manuals.
• Collaborate with vendors to identify necessary parts and make recommendations to the supervisor.
• Operate power lift equipment as needed.
• Be available to work outside scheduled hours to support Mill Production.

Qualifications for Success:

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 3-5 years of verifiable experience as an Electrician in an Industrial/Manufacturing environment, preferably in Industrial Maintenance.
• Valid driver's license needed.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends.
• Background check and drug screening will be conducted by the employer.

Experience with:

• Allen-Bradley PLC5 and Studio 5000.
• Panelviews and Panelview Plus.
• RS232 & Ethernet communication.
• Lumber manufacturing optimization systems (such as Porter, USNR).
• Process Network Communication Systems and Components (Ethernet & Fiber Optic).

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 40lbs alone and up to 75lbs with assistance.
• Frequent walking, stretching, bending, and climbing required.
• Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment and around heated equipment.
• Must be available for overtime and on-call support for 24/7 operations.
