JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a talented Electrician to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Lakewood, NY. The Electrician will troubleshoot, assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical systems using all necessary tools to keep equipment available and capable. This role involves learning and understanding the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. The Electrician may work independently and will be expected to instruct or coach others.

Licensing may be required for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
70E certification preferred
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
OR 2-year Technical Degree (Machine Repair, Electrical) plus 3 years’ experience
OR 4-year, 8000-hour on-the-job apprenticeship program completion plus 1 year experience
OR 7 years’ experience in the trade field

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safety by stopping work and reporting any major injury hazards immediately
- Comply with HSE standards and promptly report any work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards
- Recognize the environmental impact of work and strive to minimize negative effects
- Apply high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship for reliability and efficiency
- Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system and support downtime failure analysis
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems to ensure smooth operation and compliance with codes and standards
- Instruct and coach other team members to foster a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities and TPM teams to enhance quality, safety, processes, material flow, and employee development
- High school diploma or equivalent (certificate of completion of secondary education)
- Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience
- Ability to collaborate effectively and build strong partnerships
- Strong communication skills tailored to different audiences
- Customer-focused mindset with ability to deliver solutions to meet customer needs
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to work under pressure

- Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls safety
- Troubleshooting skills for electrical control systems
- Ability to implement automation and control systems, program machines, and apply manufacturing knowledge

- Knowledge and understanding of the NEC (National Electrical Code) and IEC (Industrial Electrical Code)
- Training, authorization, and certification in NFPA 70E
- Knowledge and troubleshooting skills in PLC, HMI, Servo Drives, CNC, automation, and Robotic controls
- Familiarity with schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Experience with tools such as DVMs, Clamp Amps, Meggers, Multimeters, etc.
- Experience completing PM and WO tasks in Maximo system
- Experience mentoring or training apprentices
