Electrical/ Civil Purchasing Manager

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Electrical/ Civil Purchasing manager to join their team for a six month contract to hire. This individual will play a key role in managing the electrical and civil aspects of high-voltage substation projects across the nation, including both GIS and AIS systems. The main focus will be finding and working with subcontractors-negotiating pricing, defining scopes of work, and setting contract terms to ensure everything runs smoothly and cost-effectively. In this role, one needs to build strong relationships with these partners and maintain clear communication throughout each project. This job will involve reviewing early-stage engineering drawings and turning them into accurate cost estimates along with bid execution and review. This individual will be responsible for end to end RFQs, RFIs, & RFP execution. To do this well, this individual must collaborate closely with internal teams, equipment suppliers, and vendors to gather all the necessary details and develop competitive proposals.

Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience in power transmission, substation, or electrical construction purchasing
Experience with civil or electrical purchasing
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Substation install project experience
Experience with negotiation or estimation
