A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)
As a Strategic Buyer you will focus on tactical execution of procurement strategies set forth by corporate commodity management and based on commodity strategy! You will focus on internal customers and partners who can't be successful without your contribution, timeliness and transparency. You will work in a highly motivated team with a can-do attitude, helping and supporting each other. You will tackle short-term daily issues, creating huge value for our factories and customers, and parallel you will work with the global commodity management teams to develop and implement long lasting improvement and development projects. You will become an expert of tactical execution, expediting, and supply chain performance management!
How You'll Make an Impact (responsibilities)
Strong collaboration with global and local commodity management and the manufacturing facilities to achieve the most efficiency in planning, alignment and execution of procurement activities
Select supplier based on agreed guidelines (qualification status, Long Term Agreement status, commodity strategy, supplier performance etc.) and develop supplier/sourcing strategies (to include identifying and qualifying new vendors) for outsourced production processes @ Charlotte location
Continuously supervise own procurement list, build and update purchase orders, follow up on execution such as order confirmation, progress, compliance with quality requirements
Support and ensure compliance with transportation and customs requirements in close collaboration with Logistics team
Lead contract management related functions for own commodities (claim management, terms and conditions clarifications, contract negotiations)
Continuous improvement of own supplier base and procurement related processes and their execution.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
What You Bring (requirements)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the field of business administration, supply management, engineering or comparable
You have several years of professional experience in purchasing
Your strengths are communication and team skills, negotiations, flexible working methods and assertiveness
You have a secure handling of SAP ("Buy" module) and the common MS Office applications
Planning and organizational skills, a pragmatic, solution-minded approach and a hands-on mentality complete your profile
