Saint Vincent Hospital offers a comprehensive range of services in Worcester. This role supports echocardiography services across market facilities as needed.

Position Summary

Performs and monitors echocardiogram (cardiac ultrasound) procedures. Calculates, measures, and documents appropriate values on the tests performed for review and interpretation by physicians. Communicates with physicians, managers, and co-workers about changes in a patients clinical condition while undergoing echocardiogram.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs echocardiograms using departmental protocol for obtaining images.
• Assists with TEEs and stress testing, providing images that support the physicians ability to diagnose patients appropriately.
• Identifies problems and implements appropriate interventions, including reporting critical values.
• Sets priorities for completion of studies based on acuity, patient preference, and coordination of care with nursing and other services.
• Provides EKG and Holter services when Echo workload permits.
• Obtains EKGs with proper lead placement and accurate patient information.
• Sets up and scans Holter Monitors, providing tracings that support diagnostic decisions.

Qualifications

• Required: Graduate of an accredited CAAHEP or diagnostic medical sonography program, or at least 6 months of clinical experience.
• Experience: 6 months in a clinical setting.
• Preferred: 2 years.

Certifications

• Required: Registry eligible and BLS.
• Preferred: RDMS, RDCS, or RCS.
