About the Role:
We are working with a growing civil construction firm based in Temple, TX, specializing in underground utilities, site development, and earthwork. We're seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Estimator to join their team. This role is critical to our pre-construction process, helping us deliver accurate, competitive bids and maintain our reputation for quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for underground utility and earthwork projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to identify scope and risks.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure alignment between estimates and execution.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing databases.
- Participate in bid reviews and client presentations.
- Track bid outcomes and assist in post-bid negotiations and handoffs.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in civil estimating, with a focus on underground utilities and earthwork.
- Strong understanding of excavation, grading, stormwater, water, and sewer systems.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specs, and construction documents.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with TxDOT and municipal standards is a plus.
