Duties and Expectations
- Guest Relations: Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile.
- Name Use: Use the guests’ names whenever possible, ensuring they feel properly welcomed.
- Guest Satisfaction: All Team Members work together to contribute to great guest satisfaction scores.
- Recovery: Handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and a sense of urgency.
- Hotel Knowledge: Strong knowledge of all features of the hotel facility and amenities.
- Events: Awareness and support for all groups and events at the hotel.
- Technology: Understanding of relevant technology for each role.
- Phone Etiquette: Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting.
- Spotless Cleanliness: All areas, both front and back of the house, should be kept clean and well-organized.
- Pitching In: Everyone may expect to pitch in to clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed, to ensure the hotel is well-organized and safe.
- Hospitality While Cleaning: Greet every guest happily with a smile, by name if possible, while cleaning.
- Product Consistency & Quality: Complete operational checklists accurately and on time, every shift.
- Shift Handover Reports: Accurate and timely reports for effective shift transitions.
- Flawless Uniform: Wear a clean, approved uniform, be well-groomed, wear a nametag, and smile at all times.
- Communication: Clear, honest, and professional between Team Members.
- Can Do Attitude: Willingness to go beyond traditional roles to meet guest and business needs.
- Collaboration: Work together to create a welcoming environment and positive workplace.
SECTION TWO: Role Specific Duties and Expectations
The core mission of the General Manager is to ensure cleanliness and friendly service in the hotel with every room online, every day and night. Responsible for overseeing managers and team members in their daily responsibilities and checklists.
Other Duties And Expectations
- Daily Supervision: Conduct daily walks, inspect guest rooms and public spaces, verify adherence to cleanliness standards.
- Onboarding: Ensure new hires are onboarded properly, providing friendly service and following processes.
- Auditing: Complete daily summaries and night audits as per policy.
- Reporting: Prepare and upload daily reports, ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee compliance with brand standards and conduct self and broader audits.
- Uphold Attire Standards: Ensure team wears proper uniforms, name tags, and greets guests happily.
- Safety: Ensure fire and safety inspections are current and deficiencies are corrected.
- Preventative Maintenance: Confirm maintenance tasks are performed and checked.
- Adherence to Work Schedules: Monitor staff adherence and manage shift changes.
- Teaching & Development: Foster a culture of learning, safety, and growth opportunities.
- Coaching: Provide daily feedback positively and candidly.
- Time Management & Purchasing: Review time punches, process orders and invoices correctly, manage inventory.

SECTION FOUR: Qualifications & Requirements
- Positive attitude, ability to follow guidelines, evaluate and decide quickly
- Handle stressful situations, effective listening and conflict resolution
- Financial and technological proficiency
- Excellent communication and guest service skills
- Legal age, valid driver’s license, certifications as required
- Educational background: Bachelor’s or Associate’s preferred
- Previous supervisory and hospitality experience preferred
Physical Demands & Working Environment
- Stand, lift up to 25 pounds, operate equipment, inspect areas
- Travel may be required; moderate noise environment
Language & Reasoning Skills
- Effective English communication, reading, writing, speaking
