We are seeking a dynamic Director of Event Strategy to lead our Medical-Surgical team, a $1 billion division. This pivotal role involves creating exceptional experiences for employees, suppliers, and customers through strategic event planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Craft a sustainable, long-term strategy for high-profile events, including an annual national sales conference and leadership meetings that align with business objectives.
• Collaborate with McKesson's Corporate Events team to oversee comprehensive event execution, focusing on budget management, contract negotiations, timelines, staffing, and vendor relationships.
• Manage a calendar of engaging culture-building events for employees, both in-person in Richmond and virtually for remote teams.
• Work with sales teams to strategize and execute national and regional tradeshow production and logistics.
• Design and facilitate incentive trips, ensuring exceptional logistics and memorable experiences.
• Lead the planning and execution of various company events as assigned.
• Partner with the Corporate Communications team to effectively communicate the purpose and impact of events.
• Represent McKesson Medical-Surgical with external stakeholders such as sponsors and vendors.
• Ensure attendee satisfaction across all event logistics and hospitality aspects.
• Contribute to the development of a future-focused events strategy and scalable processes that support organizational growth.
• Lead a high-performing event planning team by fostering talent development and setting clear goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align complex priorities across functions.

Minimum Requirements:

• A degree or equivalent experience, typically requiring 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years in a management role.

Qualifications:

• Proven success in leading high-performing events teams within complex organizations.
• Track record in planning and executing impactful corporate events with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to resolve issues effectively under pressure.
• Strong financial acumen and executive presence.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.
