The opportunity

Delaware North Gaming is hosting a Dealer Training School for individuals interested in becoming a Table Games Dealer at Wheeling Island Casino in Wheeling, West Virginia. As a Dealer Training School participant, you will gain table game dealer knowledge, develop math and technical skills, and learn how to start an exciting career as a Table Games Dealer.

Classes will start on September 9th and end on October 19th. Days will be Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

What will you do?

As a Dealer in Training you will be responsible to learn:

• Basic understanding of the gaming industry
• How to shuffle and place cards
• How to cut gaming chips, exchange currency for gaming chips, and identify chip denominations
• Rack maintenance
• Hand recognition
• Payouts and odds for each game
• How to determine game rule winners and losers
• How to control the pace of the game
• How to develop proper game security skills
• How to protect the integrity of games through observation and by following appropriate procedures
• How to identify unusual play habits

More about you

• Minimum 21 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Ability to obtain a state gaming license
• Mathematical skills to solve equations
• Exceptional guest service skills

Physical requirements

• Ability to stand for prolonged periods
• Hand and finger dexterity
• Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs occasionally
• Ability to pass a color recognition test
