As a CT Scan Medical Imaging Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality imaging procedures to patients and physicians while fostering a respectful and efficient atmosphere in a safe and clean environment.

Position Requirements

• Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology with accreditation from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Compliance with CE Requirements is essential.
• Registration in CT is required or eligibility to take the CT registry within 6 months of hire. BLS certification is needed within 90 days of hire.
• While one year of experience in a hospital setting is preferred, we are open to providing training for the right candidate.
• Knowledge of CT scanning is required, and familiarity with GE CT equipment is a plus. Training on specific equipment at Williamson Health will be provided.

Physical Environment

Experience safety practices related to radiation and universal precautions in a multi-modality imaging department.

Physical Effort

• Ability to perform various tasks such as operating equipment, assisting patients, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Strong communication skills are necessary.
• Must be prepared to take call for urgent or routine studies as needed after hours or on weekends.

Performance Standards

1. Verify patient identification and physician orders before proceeding with procedures.
2. Engage with female patients (ages 12-50) about possible pregnancy and document accordingly.
3. Inquire about allergies and medical history for patients receiving intravenous contrast media.
4. Ensure safety by adhering to radiation protection guidelines, prioritizing ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY, and IMAGE WISELY principles.
5. Communicate any quality improvement opportunities or existing issues promptly.
6. Maintain patient dignity by ensuring privacy and coverage during examinations and transport.
7. Regularly check on patients in waiting areas to ensure comfort and pain management.
8. Display leadership and teamwork in challenging situations and make informed decisions.
9. Be willing to volunteer for overtime or fill-in shifts when necessary.
10. Safeguard patients by following all procedures during transport to and from imaging tables.
11. Consistently perform high-quality imaging studies.
12. Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure optimal equipment use and complete all requests from physicians and patients.
