We are seeking a Compute and Storage Architect / SME to join our team supporting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Rockville, MD.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Global Infrastructure and Development Acquisition (GLINDA) provides a wide variety of Information Technology (IT) support services to the NRC Headquarters located in Rockville, MD; with four Regional Offices.

We're looking for a highly skilled Compute and Storage Architect/SME who can provide strategic and technical leadership in the architecture, design, planning, deployment, and management of enterprise-class compute, storage, and hybrid cloud environments. The SME will serve as the authoritative resource on related technologies such as VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSAN-ready nodes, Commvault Metallic backups, and Microsoft Azure solutions, supporting mission-critical and corporate support operations with an emphasis on security, compliance, cost efficiencies, and scalability.

You will define technical strategies and design solutions tailored to business needs and interact with stakeholders. This is a hands-on architecture position requiring strong technical expertise in solution design, governance, automation, and implementation. The successful candidate will serve as both a technical SME, a mentor to the compute and storage team, and trusted advisor to our customers.

Work schedule: Schedule is day shift Monday Friday. May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, feel, touch; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen or a US resident with at least 7 years of residency

Clearance requirement: Ability to receive an NRC IT-1 Public Trust
