Senior MQ Systems Engineer

Maximus is looking for a dedicated Senior MQ Systems Engineer to join our team in support of a federal client’s critical defense systems for Homeland Security. In this vital role, you will manage IBM MQ environments to ensure secure and reliable message flows across various applications.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing secure and high-performance IBM MQ and Liberty messaging infrastructures.
• Monitoring system performance, resolving bottlenecks, and optimizing configurations for efficient operations.
• Leading enterprise messaging projects while aligning with IT and business strategies.
• Providing advanced troubleshooting and being the go-to expert for complex MQ issues.
• Implementing security protocols and maintaining compliance standards across MQ environments.
• Conducting capacity planning and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless messaging integration.
• Documenting technical processes and maintaining up-to-date documentation.
• Staying current on MQ technologies and recommending enhancements.
• Other related tasks as assigned.

This position requires on-site work five days a week and candidates must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance.

Key Requirements:

• Eligibility for a Secret clearance, with compliance to privacy laws during the application process.
• US Citizenship is mandatory; dual citizenship is not acceptable.
• At least 12 years of experience in an MQ Engineer role or a related field.
• Experience with WebSphere.
• Willingness to participate in a rotational on-call schedule, including potential night and weekend work.

Preferred skills include IBM System Admin for MQ certification and experience with IBM WebSphere Liberty.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience and responsibilities.
