We are partnering with a well-established Commodity Trading firm with a decade-long track record of profitability and offices in Houston, Stamford, and Miami. The firm is actively seeking experienced traders with a proven ability to generate PnL through speculative trading of commodity derivatives. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team, particularly on the energy desk, which is undergoing rapid expansion.
The firm specializes in trading energy derivatives (including US/EU Crude and Refined Products) and agricultural derivatives (such as US/Global Wheat, Corn, Soybeans, Bean Oils, and Softs). Candidates should have a strong background in trading and research, with the ability to model fundamentals and develop innovative trading strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance trading models and fundamental analysis tools to support strategy generation
- Take full ownership of PnL in a risk-taking role with significant growth potential
- Collaborate with analysts and researchers to implement and refine trade ideas
- Build models for supply and demand balances, price forecasting, and inventory analysis
Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of experience on a commodities trading desk at a prop shop, hedge fund, or utility
- Demonstrated success in generating PnL through commodity derivatives trading
- Strong background in commodity or macroeconomic research within a trading environment
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative setting
