Cnc Programmer

The CNC Programmer will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Haas CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components. This role requires expertise in G-code programming, CAD/CAM software, and hands-on machining experience. The ideal candidate will support production goals by optimizing machine performance, ensuring quality standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Program, set up, and operate Haas CNC mills and lathes.
• Produce precision components using G-code programming and CAD/CAM software.
• Optimize machine performance to support production goals.
• Ensure quality standards are met consistently.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Train and mentor junior machinists.

Essential Skills:

• Expertise in G-code programming.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software.
• Hands-on machining experience.
• Experience with 3-axis, 4th, and 5th axis Haas mills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T symbols.
• Experience with tight tolerances (e.g., 0.0002") and high-precision parts.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing practices.
• Welding and fabrication experience (MIG/TIG) is a plus.
• Proficiency in CAM software such as Mastercam or SolidWorks CAM.
• Understanding of machining principles, feeds/speeds, and tool selection.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
• High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 35 years of experience in CNC programming and machining, specifically with Haas equipment.

Work Environment:

The work environment is a machine shop setting within a small to midsize family-owned company that offers a supportive atmosphere with minimal politics. The role involves working straight shifts, with available hours from 7 AM to 3 PM, 3 PM to 11 PM, and 11 PM to 7 AM.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
