CNC Machinist

You will be responsible for programming from print, setting up, and operating Multi Axis CNC lathes utilizing live tooling and machines using Mazatrol conversational programming. You will provide direct support to the CNC supervisor and assume the role in their absence.

Responsibilities

• Program from print using Mazatrol by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.
• Calculate requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry, and prove part programs.
• Perform your own setups and produce quality parts from technical drawings with minimal supervision.
• Plan machining by studying detailed and complex blueprints and work orders, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Set up lathes by installing and adjusting three and four jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, and stops.
• Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, and perform buddy checks.
• Support the CNC Lathe team through programming, verifying setups, and conducting buddy checks.

Essential Skills

• 4+ years of CNC setup experience.
• 4+ years of programming from print experience.
• Strong understanding of CNC programming and operation, particularly with Mazatrol and Fanuc systems.
• Experience with troubleshooting, tooling, and machine operations.
• Proficiency in Solidworks, Mastercam, and machining processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with lathe and mill operations.
• Ability to interpret complex technical drawings.
• Familiarity with changeover processes and equipment adjustments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
