CNC Machinist - Night Shift

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to work on a night shift, specializing in machining parts for the automotive, aerospace, and medical industries. This role requires precise work with tight tolerances and involves using a boring mill and CNC machines.

Responsibilities:

• Edit CNC programs and select the proper tooling.
• Understand and operate Fanuc controls.
• Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Use measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Zero out X, Y, and Z axes before starting new jobs.
• Perform tool touch-offs to set proper tooling height from XYZ axis.

Essential Skills:

• Experience with boring mills and CNC machining.
• Proficiency in programming using Vizi, Work NC, or Mastercam.
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls or similar programming systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with horizontal boring mills and horizontal CNC machines.
• Knowledge of VISI software.
• Experience in a machine shop environment with large equipment.

Work Environment:

Work in a machine shop environment on the night shift from 3:30 pm to 2:30 am, Monday to Friday. Training will be provided on the first shift (6 am-4 pm) until you are comfortable with the process. The environment includes exposure to grease and dirt, as well as the use of large equipment with overhead crane and hi-lo experience.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wayland, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
