Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering III in Denver, CO.

Job details:

  Prepare structural designs, plans, specifications and cost estimate for transportation structures including bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures.

  Provide load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts and structure type analysis evaluations.

  n

• n

  Use current engineering design software.

  n
n
• n

  Coordinate with other design teams and disciplines.

  n
n
• n

  Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  n
n
• n

  Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  n
n
• n

  Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

  n
n
• n

  Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered.

  n
n
• n

  Identify discrepancies in results.

  n
n
• n

  Provide guidance to entry level engineers.

  n
n
• n

  Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

  n

• n

  May telecommute.

  n
n

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.

Position requires:

1. n

   Structural analysis techniques including 2D beam and frame analysis; and 3D grid and finite element analysis.

   n
n
2. n

   Structural steel design, and reinforced and prestressed concrete design.

   n
n
3. n

   2D/3D drafting experience on AutoCAD or MicroStation platform (CADD)

   n
n
4. n

   Understanding of as-built plans of existing structures to analyze certain member types under new loading scenarios.

   n
n
5. n

   Structural analysis programs such as CSi Bridge, MIDAS, RISA and STAAD

   n
n
6. n

   Understanding of code/specifications such as AASHTO, AISC, NDS, ACI and other state specific bridge design manuals.

   n

7. n

   Passing the PE Civil: Structural Exam.

   n
n
8. n

   Developing and using Excel and MathCAD as design tools for structures such as retaining walls, bridges and drainage/hydraulic structures.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $105,581.00 - $133,810.00.
