Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) plays an essential role in providing compassionate care to residents in a long-term care setting. Your duties will include:

• Delivering resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
• Assisting residents with daily activities like bathing, toileting, grooming, and dressing.
• Monitoring vital signs and providing psychosocial support.
• Facilitating safe transfers, repositioning, and walking for residents, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Ensuring a positive dining experience by assisting residents with meals.
• Documenting resident interactions and communicating any changes in condition to nursing staff.
• Participating in wellness and recreational programs and encouraging resident engagement.
• Maintaining cleanliness in living areas, providing light housekeeping, and laundry services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum age of 16 years old required. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is preferred.
• Must possess or be in the process of obtaining CNA certification within four months of entering the position.
• Completion of annual competency testing and 12 hours of continuing education annually are required.
• May require certification with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry depending on state regulations.
