JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Medical Assistant, certified in our Duke Children's and Internal Medicine North Durham located in Durham, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team to provide direct and indirect care to patients.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform patient intake including: obtaining vital signs (including manual blood pressures), administering survey tools, data collection, hearing and vision screens, assisting patients with ambulation/toileting, reviewing patient medications
• Completing procedural tasks including: administering vaccinations and medications according to protocols and provider orders, ear lavages, dental varnishing, specimen collection and correct labeling, assisting with clinic-performed procedures (including ear piercing, Nexplanon insertions/removals), reviewing pre-printed material with patient/family, bill for nursing procedures.
• Documentation in electronic health record and NCIR.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
• High school or GED graduation required.
• Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required. Please specify on resume which certification you have, certification number, and expiration date.
• BLS required
