The role you'll contribute: The Buyer/Lead Pharmacy Technician, working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, performs delegated duties, tasks and functions associated with the provision of pharmacy services within the hospital. In addition, Buyer/Lead Pharmacy Technician, assists in supervising the activities of the pharmacy department's team of Pharmacy Technicians and assists in the maintenance of the pharmacy's operations. The Buyer/Lead Pharmacy Technician, performs a wide range of supportive duties to assist the Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication so that patients receive consistent care.

• Executes expert-level pharmacy technician duties with mastery across all core and advanced workflows, systems, and operational programs.
• Demonstrates leadership in medication preparation, sterile and hazardous compounding, inventory and controlled substance management, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintains proficiency in all Tech IV functions and provides coverage in any core or advanced pharmacy practice areas as needed to address staff shortages, support program and service performance, and assure achievement of strategic goals across patient care areas serviced by the pharmacy team.
• Leads strategic quality improvement, education, and practice advancement projects in assigned areas. Participates in research or innovation efforts. Represents pharmacy in committees, shared governance, and enterprise initiatives. Champions innovation and continuous professional growth.
• Mentors pharmacy technicians and supports onboarding, competency validation, and peer development. Provides training and guidance on purchasing systems, inventory workflows, and regulatory documentation practices.

Qualifications:

• High School Grad or Equiv Required
• 3 Work Experience Required
• Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT-LIC) State Pharmacy Technician Registration (RPT)
• PTCB - Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT - PTCB)
• NHA Pharmacy Technician (CPHT - NHA)
