Key Responsibilities Include:- Perform proactive and reactive maintenance activities with a multi-skilled approach, following stringent health and safety protocols.
- Support our reliability initiatives by identifying failure modes, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to boost equipment performance.
- Assist in scheduling and executing maintenance tasks, maintaining accurate work order documentation.
- Actively seek opportunities to refine maintenance processes and procedures while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments for all tasks, safeguarding both equipment and personnel.
- Prioritize employee health and safety, product quality, and environmental responsibility in all maintenance activities.
This role is for the night shift (Mon-Fri, 10pm-6:30am) with initial training on the first shift for the first 60 days.
Responsibilities also include performing preventive maintenance on equipment such as forklifts, dock doors, grinders, air compressors, and pumps. Our facility features 13 repair stations equipped with conveyors, stackers, paint stations, and one robot, providing an engaging environment for our technicians.
Position Purpose:The Automation Technician I plays a vital role in plant maintenance programs, ensuring that safety, product reliability, and environmental impact are never compromised. You will collaborate with engineers and local vendors to maintain automated equipment at peak efficiency while advocating for various improvement projects.
Key Accountabilities:- Oversee hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant pneumatics, hydraulics, and electric systems, including PLC-controlled devices.
- Perform repairs on all process hand tools and minor maintenance on forklifts and yard trucks.
- Document performance and maintenance processes accurately, participating in design improvement initiatives.
- Engage in health and safety programs, attending required training and meetings.
- Utilize welding and cutting equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use common mechanics tools.
- Availability for non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Associates Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to stand for up to 12 hours and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Proficient in reading and utilizing mechanical and electrical schematics for troubleshooting.
- Experience with electrical multimeters, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, as well as industrial electrical components.
Experience:
- 3-5 years in industrial machine maintenance.
- Knowledge of HMI operation and troubleshooting.
- Record of successful maintenance and repair of production machines.
- Ability to effectively collaborate in a team environment and manage multiple projects.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience with control panels, 3-phase 480-volt power systems, and Rockwell Automation systems.
- Mechanical knowledge of various conveyor systems and industrial components.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
- Strong communication and computer literacy skills.
