Position Overview
The Audit Director will oversee the audit department, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies. This role involves leading audit engagements, managing a team of auditors, and developing strategic plans to enhance audit processes, particularly within non-profit, manufacturing, and distribution sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the audit team, providing guidance and mentorship to staff members.
- Plan, execute, and oversee audit engagements, ensuring high-quality deliverables within established timelines.
- Review and approve audit reports, identifying key findings and recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and implement audit strategies that align with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address audit issues and improve operational efficiency.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to auditing and compliance.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of audit experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in the non-profit, manufacturing, or distribution industries is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, regulations, and compliance frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead and develop audit teams effectively.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
