Accessibility Resources ensures that students with qualifying disabilities receive reasonable academic accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504, and other applicable federal and state laws and regulations.

Provide American Sign Language (ASL)/English interpreting services for students, employees, and visitors of the university in a variety academic and professional settings.

Job Overview
Provide American Sign Language (ASL)/English interpreting services for students, employees, and visitors of the university in a variety academic and professional settings.
Essential Functions
- Provide effective, accurate, and impartial American Sign Language (ASL)/English interpreting services to the university community, including on-site and virtually, as assigned both in-person and remote. Provide American Sign Language (ASL)/English interpretation of pre-recorded media embedded in academic courses.
- Support ASL/English Interpreter Sr. and collaborate with campus stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state mandates regarding accommodation of students with disabilities including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Rehabilitation Act, and other relevant local, state and federal laws. and adhere to the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Code of Professional Conduct (CPC).
- May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
High School Diploma or GED
Required Experience
- Five (5) years documented work experience interpreting in a wide range of settings including interpretations from ASL to Spoken English and Spoken English to ASL.
- Documented experience working in interpreting teams.
- Completion of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in interpreter training/education or related field.
- RID, NAD or BEI certification.
