PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Your journey will begin with an orientation and training program, preparing you to analyze workers compensation claims and determine entitled benefits.

ARE YOU AN IDEAL CANDIDATE?

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals for this trainee position. The role starts with a detailed 6-week classroom-based training program to develop foundational skills for a successful career in claims adjusting. You will have opportunities for growth and advancement over the coming years.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

• Attendance and successful completion of designated training programs.
• Engagement in on-the-job training, which includes:
• Adjusting lost-time workers compensation claims with close supervision, and possibly managing medical-only claims.
• Handling low and mid-level liability and/or physical damage claims under supervision.
• Processing short-term disability claims under close guidance.
• Documenting claims files accurately and coding claim activity appropriately.
• Communicating the status of claims to claimants and clients.
• Supporting senior claims examiners and supervisors with more complex claims as assigned.
• Participating in rotational assignments to provide support for various office needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred educational background includes a Bachelor's or Associate's degree from an accredited institution.

EXPERIENCE:

We value prior education, knowledge, or experience related to:

• Customer Service
• Data Entry
• Medical Terminology (preferred)
• Computer Record Keeping Programs (preferred)
• Claims Experience (preferred)
• Additional useful experience includes:
• State licenses if required (e.g., SIP, Property, and Liability, Disability)
• WCCA/WCCP or similar designations
• Completion of the Sedgwick Claims Progression Program for internal candidates
