Winding Assembler

As a Winding Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling high-speed turbo motors, generators, and turbo machinery equipment, including performing sub-assembly and full system-level testing. This role involves working with applicable drawings, schematics, and specifications within the Aerospace Defense Industry.

Responsibilities:

• Coil wind, insulate, insert, form, in-process inspect, clean, and test stator assemblies according to specifications and schematics.
• Wind coils for stators, rotors, and armatures using manual or automated winding machines.
• Assemble motor components including shafts, bearings, housings, and electrical connections.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Inspect and test completed assemblies for functionality and quality assurance.
• Perform soldering, taping, and insulation of windings as required.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve assembly issues.
• Perform other related tasks as needed.

Essential Skills:

• 3+ years of proven experience in electric stator/motor winding.
• Ability to read and comprehend assembly drawings and detailed instructions as outlined on production Work Orders.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and understanding of schematics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to changing technologies.
• Ability to use hand tools, and mechanical and electrical equipment.

Work Environment:

This role is situated in a medium manufacturing environment of 120 employees, specifically within a mechanical assembly department of 20 people. The position requires sitting or standing depending on the assembly line needs, and the work environment may have a glue smell. Steel-toed safety shoes are required to ensure safety on the job.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cypress, California.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
