Join our dynamic team as a welder, where you will be working 40 hours a week starting at 6:00 AM. This role does not require certification, but knowledge of welding (GTAW) is advantageous. You will utilize your skills in facing tubing, orbital welding, and operating various machines to contribute to our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Use a handheld device similar to an angle grinder to face 1" tubing.
• Precisely insert tubing into a grinder and operate the machine.
• Utilize a go-no go gauge to check tubing before and after cutting.
• Perform orbital welding of 1' tubing, following instructions and setting up multiple pieces in a weld fixture.
• Maintain inventory counts of 8-piece lots.
• Ensure quality and detail orientation to maintain alignment while using weld fixtures and orbital welding machines.
• Weld metal parts together using gas welding and various arc welding processes.
• Perform related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
• Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and increase the size of metal parts.
• Position and clamp components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
• Locate and repair cracks in industrial engine cylinder heads using inspection equipment and gas torch.
• Pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards.
• Assemble and weld laid-out components.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for welding.
• Set up equipment and weld parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, or gas welding equipment.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.

Essential Skills

• 1+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Problem-solving skills to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Experience in heavy manufacturing.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• High school diploma/GED; one-year certificate from college or technical school preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of welding (GTAW) is a plus.
• Experience with blueprint reading and fitting.

Work Environment

The role involves regular physical demands such as standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Occasionally, you may need to climb ladders, balance, talk, or hear. You must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. The work environment exposes you to fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, moving mechanical parts, high places, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, radiation, and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
